Violation Definitions Section 21113a of the California Vehicle Code authorizes the University of California to issue parking citations and to establish penalty amounts.
ViolationDefinition
3+ Delinquent UCI Cites Any vehicle found with 3 or more UCI parking citations will receive a citation.
5+ Total Delinquent Cites Issued to a vehicle found with 5 or more delinquent parking citations.
Abandoned Vehicle Vehicles left on campus over a prolonged period of time will be cited and will be towed.
ADA Non-Compliance Viol. Issued in conjunction with a disabled violation to those vehicles where fraudulent use of disabled placard has been determined.
Altered PermitThe use, display or possession of any permit that has been marked upon in an improper manner or altered in any way is prohibited. (Section V.I.) The Supervising Enforcement Officer or the UCI Police may open the vehicle to secure the altered permit.
Counterfeit PermitThe use, display or possession of a counterfeit permit is prohibited. The Supervising Enforcement Officer or the UCI Police may open the vehicle to secure the counterfeit permit
Dis. Placard Abuse/Misuse
Disabled Parking ViolationOnly those individuals who possess a disabled parking placard are authorized to park in disabled parking spaces. UC Irvine faculty, staff and students who display UC Irvine Medical Permits and have medical authorizations forms on file with Parking and Transportation may also park in disabled parking. It is prohibited to park in the blue crosshatch at any time.

Failure to Register Lic. Plate Issued to vehicles in the AR Freedom system that have not been registered.
Housing Permit Mis-Dated
Improper DisplayPermits must be displayed according to prescribed criteria.
License Plate Obstruction No object may obstruct a license that may prevent clear visibility of license plate. Non-compliance will result in citation.
Meter ViolationParking at an expired meter or meter displaying a "fail" or "dead" message is prohibited. If a meter is not functioning (jammed, fails to record time, etc), the driver must locate a functioning meter.
No Curent Lic. Plate Tabs Current registration tags must be displayed or vehicle will receive citation.
No Repair of Vehicle Allowed No type of vehicle repair work may be conducted at UCI. Vehicles doing so will receive a citation
No Valid Permit DisplayedAll vehicles parked on the UC Irvine campus must display valid UC Irvine parking permits or have license plate registered with UCI P&TS unless they are parked in metered parking stalls or time controlled zones.
No Valid Service Permit Service parking spaces are restricted to vehicle(s) possessing a service permit and are enforced 24/7.
Overtime ViolationParking in a time controlled zone is limited to the posted time.

Parked Outside Stall MarkingsAll vehicles must park with all wheels resting with the boundaries of the parking spaces as indicated by the painted lines or other markers.
Parked Wrong Way on 1 Way St
Parking ProhibitedParking is prohibited in any area not specifically marked as a parking space.
Possession of Lost PermitThe use, display or possession of a lost or stolen permit is prohibited. The Supervising Enforcement Officer or the UCI Police may open the vehicle to secure the stolen permit.
Removed Chalk MarksA vehicle parked in a time controlled zone that has chalk marks that appear to be removed or erased is subject to citation.
Reparking in Loading Zone
Reserved ViolationReserved parking spaces are restricted to the assigned vehicle(s) or permit holder(s) 24/7 unless otherwise posted.
Tinted Front Side Windows Front side windows may not contain tint that may prevent proper display of a UC Irvine parking permit.
Two Lic. Plates Required Two license plates must be displayed at all times non-compliance will result in citation.
Unauthorized AreaThe zone in which a vehicle parks must be consistent with the parking privileges authorized by the parking permit displayed.
Unauthorized Permit UseUse of a permit by an individual other than the person to whom a permit is issued by Parking and Transportation is prohibited. (*Penalty amount determined by permit type and duration that the permit could have been used by the unauthorized individual.)
