Student Parking PermitsAll students who park vehicles on the UC Irvine campus are required to display parking permits. Parking permits may only be purchased on-line with Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover. Medical, motorcycle, and overnight parking for University Town Center residents may be purchased directly from the Parking and Transportation Office. Student permits will be available for purchase online at http://www.parking.uci.edu at the myCommute login with your UCInetID. All students will have parking zone choice on a first come, first served basis so purchase early to receive the zone of your choice. You may purchase the same zone for the entire academic year or select different zones each quarter. All available zones will appear on your myCommute account for your selection. Permits may be picked up from a Parking Transaction Kiosk. General Commuter || Commuter Preferred || Evening Commuter || Campus Resident || Graduate and Privately-Owned On-Campus Apartment Communities || Near-Campus Apartment Communities || MBA Permit || Disabled || Motorcycle Student CommuterStudent Commuter Parking Permits are valid in unmarked stalls in all "S" parking areas of the zone designated on the permit only. Please check the lot entrance sign upon entering. Student Commuter Permits are not valid in Preferred/Reserved, Resident, Metered, Service, Disabled parking stalls, lot 1, lot 12B, lot 8, lot CT, or any specially marked stall. Student Commuter “S” and Student Preferred “P” permits will be valid in all zones after 3:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Student Commuter Permits are valid in AR Reserved Stalls (non 24-hour reserved) after 5 P.M. on weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday. Student commuter permits are not valid for overnight parking. Student Commuter PreferredStudent Commuter Preferred Permits are valid in the Reserved and unmarked parking stalls in the zone designated on the permit. Commuter Preferred Permits are not valid in Resident, Metered, Service, Disabled, or specially marked parking stalls. Click here for a map of the student commuter zones. Commuter Preferred permits are sold in limited quantities and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Permits purchased on-line with pick-up option are not valid until printed and obtained from a Parking Transaction Kiosk.
Evening CommuterEvening Parking Permits are valid between 5:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday in all unmarked parking stalls and in most Reserved/Preferred stalls, except those marked "enforced 24 hours."
* University Extension Permits must be purchased from the University Extension office. Permits purchased on-line with pick-up option are not valid until printed and obtained from a Parking Transaction Kiosk. Campus Student ResidentThe following information refers to policies and permits issued directly by Parking and Transportation Services: Communities: Arroyo Vista, Campus Village, Mesa Court, Middle Earth. Student Resident Parking Permits are valid in assigned Resident parking lots near each housing area and allow students to park their vehicles over night in Resident parking lots. Resident Parking Permits are not valid in other housing areas' Resident parking, including graduate and privately owned apartment communities (see below), or at any time in the Pereira, Mesa, and Social Science parking structures, Commuter, Commuter Preferred/Reserved, Metered, Service or Disabled parking stalls. You may park on campus in any OPEN lot (not a parking structure) in unmarked stalls or non-24 hour enforced AR stalls after 5 pm Monday - Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Campus Village, Mesa Court, and Middle Earth resident permits are valid in the ARC lot during ARC operating hours. *Reminder: If you move out of on-campus housing you MUST exchange your resident permit for a commuter permit. You must provide written documentation from the housing office of your contract cancellation. Citations issued for failure to exchange permit will not be cancelled.
The following information refers to permits issued by Housing, under the authority of Parking and Transportation Services: Verano Place, PaloVerde and Vista Del Campo Housing permits are issued by the Housing Officials through the authority of Parking and Transportation Services. Only residents of these areas are authorized to receive this permit, and the permit is valid only in parking lots specific to the housing areas. Graduate and Privately-Owned On-Campus Apartment Communities (Verano Place, Palo Verde, Santiago, Vista del Campo, Vista del Campo Norte)The following information refers to policies and permits issued by each of the following specific housing authorities under authority of Parking and Transportation Services: Communities: Palo Verde, Verano Place, Santiago Apartments, Vista del Campo, Vista del Campo Norte Parking Alternatives for the Above Residents: For VDC residents who are unable to obtain a resident permit to park in their housing community lots, or who need additional parking, there are a limited number of campus resident permits available which would allow the resident to park in specific campus parking lots, managed by UCI Parking and Transportation. Parking lots vary based on availability; please inquire directly with the UC Irvine Parking and Transportation office. Permits are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Vista del Campo/Vista del Campo Norte Undergraduate Campus Parking Restrictions Near-Campus Apartment CommunitiesCommunities: Irvine Apartment Communities of the University Town Center, and Parkwest Parking Alternatives for University Town Center and Parkwest Residents: Your Parking and Transportation Services office understands that resident parking in the UTC or Parkwest apartment complexes can be difficult. That's why we are offering UTC and Parkwest residents a place to park their car overnight. For University Town Center or Parkwest residents (anyone living in Berkeley, Ambrose, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, or Parkwest apartments) who are unable to obtain a resident permit to park in their housing community lots, or who need additional parking, there are a limited number of campus resident permits available which would allow the resident to park in specific campus parking lots, managed by UCI Parking and Transportation. Parking for MBA Permits
Medical Permits and Disabled ParkingAll UC Irvine faculty, staff and students who park a vehicle on campus are required to display a UC Irvine Parking Permit. Persons who have been issued disabled parking placards or license plates from the Department of Motor Vehicles must register their placard or plate with the Parking Office.
An individual who requires temporary access to disabled parking and does not wish to obtain a California DMV Disabled placard MUST submit the following DMV form with a doctor's signature to the Parking and Transportation Services Office. This permit allows the motorcycle to park in any of the designated motorcycle parking areas on the campus. Motorcycles may only park in the designated motorcycle parking areas and may not park in reserved, resident or general vehicle parking spaces.
