Ethyl Alcohol

Tax-free ethanol can be purchased only from Distribution Services. The minimum order is four (4) pints.

A signature authorization remains in effect until canceled. When a person's authorized status ends, the departmental authorizing officer is responsible for canceling the status using the same form.

How to Order Tax-Free Alcohol

1. Obtain and review internal requisition received from end user
1. Check for authorized signatures/approvals based upon departmental and University policy
2. 2. Verify that a Signature Authorization (Form U242A) is on file with Distribution Services
1. Each individual ordering alcohol requires a form, approved by the department chair solely for the withdrawal of tax-free alcohol.
2. Forms will be kept on file and will remain in effect until cancelled.
3. When a person’s authorized status ends, the departmental authorizing office is responsible for cancelling the status using the same form.
3. Complete online order form
1. Tax-free alcohol must be ordered through Distribution Services’ online order form.
2. Alcohol cannot be ordered electronically or by fax.
3. Original authorized signature (in ink) is required.
4. Alcohol is sold in increments of four (4) pints only.
4. Arrange delivery to your campus address
1. Orders delivered by Distribution Staff require a signature. Retain a copy for your file.
2. Contact Environmental Health & Safety for proper disposal of 5-gallon pails.
5. Retain the following documentation:
1. Internal requisition
2. Printed copy of order form
3. Proof of delivery
4. Additional notes if applicable
